For about $22, I could be supplied with a detailed report. I searched for an online provider of sensitive personal information about "me." My first exploration led me to. I had a big scare and some hassles obtaining a refund, but thankfully I did get my money back. The credit union conducted the investigation and refunded the remaining 50% of my payment to InstantCheckMate. They also suggested I file a Notice of Fraudulent Activity (one of their forms) to have them review the disputed transaction. They advised me to replace my card so that InstantCheckMate couldn't process any more charges. I contacted my credit union (the issuer of my credit card). He assured me that the account would close. I asked if the account would close after 30 days or if I'd have to call back to cancel.

He went on to say that because they were only giving me a partial refund, I would be allowed access to the site for the full 30 days of my membership. He explained that it costs them money to operate their business and that I clearly accessed a lot of information that they couldn't just provide me for free. And there's really nothing you can do, which is totally frustrating! So DO NOT even sign up for a trial membership with Instant Checkmate. So it's basically just a ripoff where they get you to sign up for a trial membership then hope you forget to cancel in time then they just made $30 off you. To get (supposedly) more information, you have to sign up for a Premium Report and pay $10 more, but the customer service girl on the phone even told me that you really don't get much more info with the Premium Report. The problem with them is the information that you get when you do a background search on someone is just from public records that you could easily get on your own without them. but they could have still refunded me the full amount if they wanted to. I admit that I should have been more on top of it and I should have cancelled on the 5th day. They did say that they could refund me half of the $29.53, and said that their system wouldn't let them refund any more, which I know is bull. I signed up for the 5-day trial and made the mistake of not cancelling till the 6th day. The point is.you are paying for NOTHING that you couldn't find by googling the name.
I'm thinking with that kind of up-to-date information, they may be able to tell me what was in my grandson's diaper when he was two or where the deadbeat dad may have lived when he was in junior high but that is about it and is that information valuable or relevant.

I called and was told that there is a disclaimer that the information was not always up to date nor was it always accurate. I paid the month fee ($22+) and got the report. His mother now wants to move him to Missouri to be with his stepdad and their family and I wanted information on him. I only found that out because he had been arrested here in Colorado on two occasions. I knew he was on probation out of Missouri, but wasn't sure what the initial charge was. I wanted to run a background check on my grandson's stepdad.
